Psalm 31 - Literary type | Individual Laments | click here.
Rescue me! I worship you alone, O Lord; I am like the dead ... forgotten but I have trusted in you; bless the Lord for God has shown me the wonders of God's ways.
Genesis 11/12 - Abraham's family tree; God speaks and promises Abraham to be a great nation and gave directions to the land; Abraham's household follows what God has promised; When they arrive in Canaan - God shows up again and says God will give his descendants this land; Abraham builds an altar to worship God there.
John 4 - Jesus continues his conversation of salvation with the Samaritan woman; Jesus identifies her as who she really is; She sees he is a prophet; He tells her of the total inclusivity of the Gospel and salvation; worship is not in a place but in the heart; God is spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and truth; He declares to her that he is the Messiah.
Today: So Jesus shows up to you today. Do you recognize him?

For Social Justice
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
