Reflection |
Psalm 34  - Literary type | Individual Thanksgiving click here
I will sign praise to the Lord; I sought the Lord and God answered me and brought me out of my terror; Taste and see that the Lord is good; he will keep safe the righteous.
1 Kings 19 - Elijah ran from Jezebel for his killing of all the prophets of the false god into the desert and the angel of the Lord provides him food to survive his 40 days.

Ephesians 4 - Lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

John 6 - Jesus tests his disciples asking them how they were going to feed 5,000 people listening to him; they are skeptical and see only the cost; he sits them down, feeds them, and give them more than enough to accomplish the task. God always gives abundantly.

A Collect for Saturdays

Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
