Opening Sentence

Psalm 55  - Literary type | Individual Lament click here.
Listen to me and am oppressed by my enemy; Zion is corrupt; My friend is corrupt; Judge them; The Lord will hear my pleas and complaints and will bring them down; the righteous will not stumble.

Genesis 18 - The Lord appeared as three men before Abraham and Sarah; Abraham provides hospitality and says again the promise; Sarah laughs at the prediction of having a child when she is so old; Why laugh... Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?; and then the Lord began to make His way toward Sodom.

Hebrews 10 - Do not spur the Lord after when you have believed and be persecuted; we possess something more everlasting; Jesus is coming; keep the faith; you are saved.

John 6 - The disciples got into a boat - Jesus caught up with them and walked on the water to them; The crowd followed; work for the food that is eternal not perishable.

Today: Look to what is eternal and tell someone about it. See you in church.

Collect of the Day: The Third Sunday after The Epiphany

Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
