Psalm 5
Hear me, God for I pray to you; God does not like wickedness; but I will pray to you in awe; they are rebellious; you will shelter those who believe in you and protect them.

1 John 4
God is love; since God has loved us so much we should love one another; abide in God's love; be bold in love.

Matthew 11
Jesus spoke to the crowds about John the Baptist - he was a prophet - he prepared the way - but the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than him - he is like Elijah; Elijah would appear again before the coming of the Messiah per the Hebrew prophets.
Tomorrow

Collect of the Day: the Day of Pentecost—Whitsunday

O God, who on this day taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Note: A proper in worship is a change of worship during a particular season. In the Book of Common Prayer, the propers are the prayers during the Season of Pentecost. The Season of Pentecost is a teaching season where disciples learn from the texts and Jesus the path of the Way.
