The writer asks protection from the wicked so that they can enter the temple to worship. Two themes: enjoying God in the temple and threat of the wicked. NOAB4.
Job 6
Job second speech asks of no one why he must go on living in suffering?
Acts 9
Peter hears of the death of one of the disciples Tabitha who has died and Peter raises her from the dead. Word about the miracle gets around and he stays in Joppa for a while.
John 6
Many disciples do not understand the body and blood eating as told by Jesus and turn away; Peter says Jesus has the words of eternal life; Jesus predicts the betrayal of Judas Iscariot.
Prayer
Collect of the Day: Proper 16
Grant, O merciful God, that your Church, being gathered together in unity by your Holy Spirit, may show forth your power among all peoples, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirt, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
For Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
