The Transfiguration - 1480 Giovanni Bellini (circa 1430–1516) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons |
The transfiguration occurred while Jesus was praying on a mount with a few disciples; Jesus is transformed into the glory of God - Moses (law and Torah) & Elijah (prophets) also in glory show up - then God shows up to testify about Jesus => This is my Son, listen to him; then the disciples are left with Jesus alone and they were stunned to silence.
For Social Justice
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayers and Intercessions
Let us pray now for our own needs and those of others.
