Week after the 22th Sunday after Pentecost - Proper 24

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

Today |

Psalm 31
In you, O Lord, I take refuge;
Don’t let me be ashamed;
You are my stronghold,
I commend my spirit with you;
I rejoice in you;
Have mercy on me;
I am so ill that I am embarrassing myself;
Rescue me;
I call upon you, O Lord,
Your goodness is great,
Protect me,
Help me be strong …

Revelation 9
The apocalypse continues where one-third of earth’s people are destroyed and the remainder still are sinners.

Luke 10
Jesus stays with Mary and Martha; Martha is doing housework and preparations; Mary is listening to Jesus; Martha asks Jesus to have Mary help; Jesus - don’t worry - hear the message of God - do the better thing and listen to Jesus.

Prayers and Intercessions | Mission St Clare
Collect of the Day: Proper 24
Almighty and everlasting God, in Christ you have revealed your glory among the nations: Preserve the works of your mercy, that your Church throughout the world may persevere with steadfast faith in the confession of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.
A Collect for Fridays
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.
