Psalm 1
Happy are those who hang out with the faith-filled people.

Acts 26
Paul is giving evidence in his trial before King Agrippa; Paul says he is a Pharisee and a great follower of the ways of Jewish people; after encountering Jesus, who is the Messiah promised by the faith of our ancestors and prophets of God, Paul proclaims Jesus, who rose from the dead, as Messiah because he was commissioned by Jesus on the road to Damascus; Jesus called him to speak of his ways and forgiveness.

Luke 8
Jesus and the disciples go to Gerasene and are encountered by a man possessed by many demons; Jesus casts them off, they go to a herd of pigs who go insane and run off a cliff and are killed; the man was healed; the people became fearful of Jesus and asked him to leave; the man who was healed stayed and proclaimed the great works of God in his life.

Prayers
Collect of the Day: proper 23
Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede and follow us, that we may continually be given to good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
