Psalm 20
May the Lord help you and bless you;
May the Lord grant all your requests.
Acts 28
In Rome, Paul gathers local Jewish leaders to talk about his trial; they have not rec’d anything from Jerusalem but would like to hear his side of the story; Paul then talks about the Kingdom of God and Jesus as Messiah; some agree - some do not; Paul then says he will go to the Gentile world with the message of Jesus.
Luke 9
Jesus and disciples:
- A man with a sick child comes to Jesus and pleas for his son to be healed for the disciples could not. Jesus - asks them why and heals the son.
- The disciples were thinking to themselves who was the greatest; Jesus calls a little child to be with them and says you must be like a little child to be a leader in this Church.
- Someone, not the disciples, was healing in Jesus name; Jesus - everyone who is not against us is for us.
Prayers and Intercessions
A Collect for Saturdays
Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let us pray now for our own needs and those of others.
