Psalm 24
The earth is the Lord’s;
Those that are pure will know God;
Lift up your heads and see the works of God
Glory be to God from now to eternity. Amen
1 Corinthians 9
Paul continues - He lists out many of the ministries that occur in the Church/the Body of Christ saying that all are good; Paul almost as a song writes of the love (agape) of God and it’s sacrifice; faith, hope, and love abide, these three, and the greatest is love.
Matthew 18
How many times do I forgive? Jesus - always; he tells the story of the wicked forgiven slave; you will be forgiven as you forgive and more; in all things forgive.
Collect of the Day: proper 26
Almighty and merciful God, it is only by your gift that your faithful people offer you true and laudable service: Grant that we may run without stumbling to obtain your heavenly promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Collect for Sundays
O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
