Week after the 27th Sunday after Pentecost - Proper 29
Last Week in Pentecost

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

Pray this way or this way or this way.

Psalm 119
(this is the longest Psalm - the Daily Office Readings usually has this on Wednesdays to break up this psalm over a series of weeks. The psalm celebrates the rightness of the ordinances of God and how they are a good path to follow.)
I call with my whole heart - answer me, O Lord.
I trust your word even in the middle of the night.
Give me life Lord.
You are near to me and everything you have said is true.

Ephesians 1
Paul continues the introduction to this letter praising God, our inheritance in Christ, and the bestowing of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 19
Jesus with eyes toward Jerusalem and passes through Jericho to find Zacheseas who welcomes Jesus; the religious leaders grumble as Zac is a sinner - tax collector.

Collect of the Day: proper 29
Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

General Thanksgiving
Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
