Monday in the Third Week in Advent

Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation may spring up, and let it cause righteousness to sprout up also. Isaiah 45:8, NRSV, EOW 1

Pray this way or this way or this way.

Psalm 41 | Instructions to the Leader
Happy are those who consider the poor;
   the Lord delivers them in the day of trouble.
The Lord protects them and keeps them alive;
   they are called happy in the land.
   You do not give them up to the will of their enemies.
The Lord sustains them on their sickbed;
   in their illness you heal all their infirmities.

Isaiah 8/9
I will wait on the Lord, who is hiding the Lord’s face from the house of Jacob; things will change when God’s people come back to him.

2 Peter 1
Greetings; God will give his elect all things and sustain them in purity; support your faith with goodness, endurance, mutual affection, and eager to hear God’s calling for you will be richly blessed.

Luke 22
Jesus is praying at the Mt. of Olives - remove this cup from me but your will be done;
Jesus is betrayed by a kiss of one of his own and arrested;

Collect of the Day: Advent 3
Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.

For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
