Tuesday in the Third Week in Advent

Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation may spring up, and let it cause righteousness to sprout up also. Isaiah 45:8, NRSV, EOW 1

Pray this way or this way or this way.

Psalm 45 | Celebration of the King’s wedding
You are handsome of men; your rule is victorious; the princess is beautiful; God is blessed

Isaiah 9
The people who walked in darkness
   have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness—
   on them light has shined.
For a child has been born for us,
   a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders;
   and he is named
Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,
   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His authority shall grow continually,
   and there shall be endless peace
for the throne of David and his kingdom.
   He will establish and uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
   from this time onwards and for evermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

2 Peter 1
I keep on reminding you that we are the witnesses of our Lord Jesus Christ;
The prophecy has been fulfilled;
The Kingdom of God is here as the Holy Spirit told us.

Luke 22
The tragic account of Peter denying Jesus as Jesus predicted.

Collect of the Day: Advent 3
Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.

For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
