Psalm 5 |
God is with us even in times of trouble;
We will not fear no matter what happens;
God inhabits everywhere; God hates evil;
Be still and know that I am God.

May God give you wisdom;
Know God and God’s hope for us who believe;
We know this because of the resurrection of Jesus and his rule with God - they rule all in all.

Mark 1 | Background
Mark moves us immediately from John the Baptist to Jesus as Jesus begins his ministry in Galilee; John is arrested;

And his fame spread.

Prayers and Intercessions | Mission St Clare | Book of Common Prayer.
Collect of the Day: The First Sunday after the Epiphany
Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with the Holy Spirit: Grant that all who are baptized into his Name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord and Savior; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

For Mission

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

and born of the Virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.
