Psalm 38
I am weak and sick;
I fix my hopes in you, O Lord;
I am in pain;
I am sorry for my sin;
Don’t forsake me and help me...

Ephesians 4
Be imitators of Christ and God;
Talk nice and with the words of God;
Find out what is pleasing to God;
Awake and rise from the dead.

Mark 4
Jesus was teaching by the sea and was in a boat because of the large crowds come to hear him; he taught in parables; he talked of a sower and types of ground the seed landed; He explains to the followers what it means: path - taken away by the devil; rocky soil - hear but does not take root and fall away; thorns - receive the word but are choked by the cares of the world; good soil - hear the word and tell it and yields 100x.

Collect of the Day: The Second Sunday after the Epiphany
Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ's glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and forever. Amen.
For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

A Collect for the Renewal of Life

O God, the King eternal,
who divides the day from the night
and turns the shadow of death into the morning:
Drive far from us all wrong desires,
incline our hearts to keep your law,
and guide our feet into the way of peace;
that, having done your will with cheerfulness while it was day,
we may, when night comes,
rejoice to give you thanks;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
