Week after the 5th Sunday of Epiphany

I will give you as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. Isaiah 49:6b  BCP p. 76

Psalm 87 |
A song of praise for the City of Zion and its greatness as a gift from God to the world; could in modern eyes be a view of heaven; We pray for peace among people particularly those that believe in God.

2 Timothy 4 | Paul shares with his partner in ministry of the faith the of Jesus
Paul is distressed that people are following a false gospel and reverting to old ways; He lists a credo for action among all Christian congregations: As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully; so how do we train people in the pew to feel comfortable enough to just ask people to come and see Jesus and invite them to church?

Mark 10 |
Jesus continues to go from place to place and encounters a man and asks what the man wants; I want to see and he is healed and sees Jesus and follows him.  Have you seen Jesus lately?

Collect of the Day | Fifth Sunday after Epiphany
Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins, and give us the liberty of that abundant life which you have made known to us in your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

For Joy in God's Creation

O heavenly Father, who has filled the world with beauty: Open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works; that, rejoicing in your whole creation, we may learn to serve you with gladness; for the sake of him through whom all things were made, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
