Readings
Today | Sunday | 27 August 2017
Psalm 146 | Background
I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
God gives help, is the maker of heaven and everything, keeps promises, heals, gives food, cares for the stranger, widow, orphan.
Alleluia!

Galatians 3 |
You are children of God through faith, you are the seed of Abraham, you are the heir, the Spirit teaches us to pray; we are a child of God.

John 8 |
Jesus spoke to the people and some challenged his authority from God; I am the light of the world, I testify for God, my testimony is true, if you don’t know me - you don’t know God.

Collect for the Day
Grant, O merciful God, that your Church, being gathered together in unity by your Holy Spirit, may show forth your power among all peoples, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

For Peace Among Nations

Almighty God our heavenly Father,

guide the nations of the world

into the way of justice and truth,

and establish among them that peace

which is the fruit of righteousness,

that they may become the kingdom

of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
