You are the Greatest and I sing your praise!
You are our redeemer
Praise the Lord!

Numbers 21
The people whine that they are uncomfortable and whine to God; God sends poisonous snakes to bite the unbelievers; Moses prays to the Lord for relief; God tells him to make a bronze snake and place on pole and bitten people seeing it will be healed.  (In the modern era,) it is relatively common, especially in the United States, to find the caduceus, with its two snakes and wings, used as a symbol of medicine instead of the Rod of Asclepius, with only a single snake. /Wikipedia

John 3
As Moses lifted up a serpent in the wilderness so the Son was lifted up. God sent his son into the world to save it not condemn it. Jesus came that all might have eternal life.

Collect for the Day
Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts; for, as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

A Collect for the Renewal of Life

O God, the King eternal,
who divides the day from the night
and turns the shadow of death into the morning:
Drive far from us all wrong desires,
incline our hearts to keep your law,
and guide our feet into the way of peace;
that, having done your will with cheerfulness while it was day,
we may, when night comes,
rejoice to give you thanks;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for People Doing Missions

I thank the Lord for all those who are volunteering their time;
They go to disasters and build and comfort;
They go to distant lands to talk about You;
They go to staff retreat centers to work so that You may walk with others;
They go and are persecuted for the faith;
Bring your legions of angels to guard and protect them;
Surround them with the Holy Spirit so they feel your presence;
And may they come home worked well and revitalize in the Gospel to be witnesses to others and inspire service.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
