Protect me, O Lord
Keep me safe;
I have always had faith in you;
Guard me against evil and evildoers.

Revelation to John 14 |
Another vision of Jesus and the pure 144,000; of angels singing prophecy and judgment; blessed are the dead that die in the Lord for they will rest and their deeds will follow them.

Matthew 14
Jesus - hears of the death of John the Baptist - of beheadings and a dancing girl; King Herod thinks Jesus is John raised from the dead.

Today | Pentecost 22 - Proper 26
Collect for the Day
Almighty and merciful God, it is only by your gift that your faithful people offer you true and laudable service: Grant that we may run without stumbling to obtain your heavenly promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hardwood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen

I Said a Prayer For You Today
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although God spoke no word.
I didn’t ask for wealth or fame,
I know you won’t mind,
I asked God to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that the Lord be near you
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share the Way;
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small
But it was for God’s loving care
I prayed most of all.
Amen
