My Autobiography on Good Friday

Psalm 22 |
My God, My God why have you forsaken me? The person who writes
the Psalm is in agony even to the point of death; they feel abandon
by all things and ready to die; their conclusion is that no matter what
they know that God is with them. Attributed to one of the words of the
Cross that Jesus says. He looks to God for his salvation.

1 Peter 1:10-20
You, a beloved child of God, are holy, bought with the blood of Christ
for your salvation … not only yours but the salvation of all creation.

John 13
Peter see the anguish of Jesus and says he will go with Christ; Jesus
says Peter will deny him and Peter is left confused and will not know
until the prediction is fulfilled.

How do we deny Jesus?

Prayers and Intercessions | Mission St Clare | Book of Common Prayer
Lent - Year B (Mark)

Opening Sentence-
Jesus said,” If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself
and take up his cross and follow me.” Mark 8:34 | BCP p. 76

Collect of the Day: Good Friday
Almighty God, we pray you graciously to behold this your family,
for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed, and
given into the hands of sinners, and to suffer death upon the cross;
who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen.

For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hardwood
of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving
embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands
in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and
love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

For Travelers
O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation,
and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who
travel, in particular (name); surround them with your loving care;
protect them from every danger, and bring them in safety to their
journey's end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
