Today | Monday | 19 March 2018
Ps. 132; Isaiah 63:7–16; Matthew 1:18–25; Ps. 34; Ephesians 3:14–21

Psalm 132
A psalm of King David’s desire to build the first Temple;
For the Lord has chosen Zion as the place for God’s habitation.

Matthew 1
Joseph hears of the birth of Jesus from Mary by the Holy Spirit and he did not
divorce her.

Ephesians 4
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom
every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that,
according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be
strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are
being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the
power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and
length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that
surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to
accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine,
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers and Intercessions | Mission St Clare | Book of Common Prayer
Lent - Year B (Mark)

Collect for the Day:
Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and
affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command
and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and
varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed
where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever. Amen.

For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love
on the hardwood of the cross that everyone might come
within the reach  of your saving embrace: So clothe us
in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love,
may bring those who do not know you to the
knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.
A Collect for the Renewal of Life
O God, the King eternal,
who divides the day from the night
and turns the shadow of death into the morning:
Drive far from us all wrong desires,
incline our hearts to keep your law,
and guide our feet into the way of peace;
that, having done your will with cheerfulness while it was day,
we may, when night comes,
rejoice to give you thanks;

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
