Psalm 41 | Background - Individual Thanksgiving
Happy are they that consider the poor and the needy;
The Lord takes care of them; Heal me; rumors abound;
My enemy will NOT triumph over me;
Blessed be God forever.

Galatians 1 | Background
Introduction from Paul - called by God - Christ has saved us - why are you
deserting the gospel - I am trying only to please God - I proclaim God &
a revelation of Jesus Christ; I was bad before but I saw Jesus and changed
forever.

Matthew 13
In the Treasure parable, one's "treasure" (thesaurus in Greek) is an
important metaphor in Matthew indicating where one's allegiance
ultimately lies and its nature. "For where your treasure is, there your
heart will be also." (6.19-21; also cf. 12:35; 19:21) The discovered and
claimed treasure in this parable also anticipates the scribe's treasure
mentioned in a moment in 13:52. Like the hidden leaven and like that
which "has been hidden from the foundation of the world" (13:35), this
treasure ultimately cannot be kept secret. WorkingPreacher

More parables from Jesus about the Kingdom of Heaven; treasure, fish,
leaven, the Master of the house will bring out what is new and old.

Prayers and Intercessions
Collect for Proper 4 Year B
O God, your never-failing providence sets in order for all things both in heaven and earth: Put away from us, we entreat you, all hurtful things, and give us those things which are profitable for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
A Collect for Guidance
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
For Creation
We give you thanks, most gracious God, for the beauty of earth and sky
and sea; for the richness of mountains, plains, and rivers; for the songs of
birds and the loveliness of flowers. We praise you for these good gifts,
and pray that we may safeguard them for our posterity. Grant that we
may continue to grow in our grateful enjoyment of your abundant
creation, to the honor and glory of your Name, now and forever. Amen

Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than
we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in
the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20,21
