Psalm  69 | Background |
Save me O God and the water is up to my neck;
My enemies are surrounding me; Please let all seek the Lord;
I am a stranger even to my family; they teased me;
Answer me and do not let me sink; don’t let the pit get me:
Redeem me from my enemies; They don’t comfort me;
I am in pain; I will praise the Lord in song from my heart;
The Lord listens to the needy.  God will save Jerusalem.
Acts 1 | Background |
The day of Pentecost came and a sound of rushing wind;
The Holy Spirit gave each of them the gift of language:
And visitors could hear the gospel in their own language:
Peter quotes the prophet Joel - everyone will receive the Spirit,
The Lord is coming and all that call the name of the Lord
will be saved.

Matthew 27 |
After the Sabbath the two Marys were there at the tomb;
An angel came to them and proclaimed Jesus’ resurrection:
They were going to the disciples and Jesus appeared and
told them to have them all meet in Galilee.

Prayers and Intercessions
Collect
O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is
strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that,
with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal,
that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
(Proper 12, Year B)

For Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore:
Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you,
all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women
everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
For the Unemployed
Heavenly Father, we remember before you those who suffer want and
anxiety from lack of paid work. Guide the people of this land so to use
our public and private wealth that all may find suitable and fulfilling
employment, and receive just payment for their labor; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
For All Sorts and Conditions
O God, the creator and preserver of all, we humbly beseech you for
all sorts and conditions of people; that you would be pleased to make
your ways known unto them, your saving health unto all nations. More
especially we pray for your holy Church universal; that it may be so
guided and governed by your good Spirit, that all who profess and call
themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the
faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of
life. Finally, we commend to your fatherly goodness all those who are
in any ways afflicted or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; that it
may please you to comfort and relieve them according to their several
necessities, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy
issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake.
Amen.

Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than
we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in
the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.
