Prayer of thanksgiving and the mission of the Church
Almighty God, you sent your Son Jesus Christ to reconcile the world to
yourself: We praise and bless you for those whom you have sent in the
power of the Spirit to preach the Gospel to all nations. We thank you that
in all parts of the earth a community of love has been gathered together
by their prayers and labors, and that in every place your servants call
upon your Name; for the kingdom and the power and the glory are yours
forever. Amen.

A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

A Collect for Guidance
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We
humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in
all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but
may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Collect for Peace
O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is
eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your
humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting
in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through
the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
