Reflection:
God and Pharaoh begin the power struggle over the people of God.
Moses for God asks Pharaoh to let the people go. Not only does he
refuse but does not give them any materials thus doubling the work.
The people complain to Moses, Moses complains to God, but God
refuse but does not give them any materials thus doubling the work.
The people complain to Moses, Moses complains to God, but God
affirms God’s plan for the people.
“I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of
judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God.”
judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God.”
There then is a genealogy in case we forgot who God was saving and the family of Moses and Aaron.
The Lord empowers Aaron to do acts and wonders just with his walking
stick. We are reminded God does NOT care how old you are to do God’s
plan of liberation. Moses = 80 yrs. Aaron = 83 yrs.
plan of liberation. Moses = 80 yrs. Aaron = 83 yrs.
Meditation/Contemplate:
How old are you going to be when you start or continue to do the
mighty acts of God? What is God calling you to do the liberate the world? Who will you forgive today?

Prayer:
God, give me your Spirit, to do the mighty acts you would want me to
do to liberate this world. Amen

Psalm 98 or
Cantate Domino
Sing to the LORD a new song, *
for he has done marvelous things.
With his right hand and his holy arm *
has he won for himself the victory.
The LORD has made known his victory; *
his righteousness has he openly shown in
the sight of the nations.
He remembers his mercy and faithfulness to
the house of Israel, *
and all the ends of the earth have seen the
victory of our God.
Shout with joy to the LORD, all you lands; *
lift up your voice, rejoice, and sing.
Sing to the LORD with the harp, *
with the harp and the voice of song.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn *
shout with joy before the King, the LORD.
Let the sea make a noise and all that is in it, *
the lands and those who dwell therein.
Let the rivers clap their hands, *
and let the hills ring out with joy before the LORD,
when he comes to judge the earth.
In righteousness shall he judge the world *
and the peoples with equity.
