7/19/2019  Day 200   Jeremiah 13:1 – 16:21

Reflection |
Today -
Chapter 8 - My joy is gone, grief is upon me, my heart is sick.
Chapter 9 - I wish I could weep all day long for Zion. People
mourn about judgment; God mourns.
Chapter 10 - Idolatry has brought ruin to Israel. You are great Lord.
The coming exile...
Chapter 11 - Israel and Judah have left God. Jeremiah’s life is
threatened. God will punish those who threaten you.
Chapter 12 - Jeremiah complains; God says they have left me…
but I will bring them back.
Chapter 13 - Of loincloths, wine jars, exile is threatened. I have
seen your abominations - woe to you Jerusalem!
Chapter 14 - Drought predicted. False prophets. People plead for
mercy.
Chapter 15 - Sorry - the punishment will happen; Jeremiah complains
again but God will save and deliver.
Chapter 16 - God to Jeremiah - Don’t take a wife or have children,
it will be bad. God will restore Israel.

A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
