7/22/2019     Day 203 Jeremiah 25:1 - 29:32

Reflection |
Today -
J = Jeremiah From the Book of Jeremiah (NRSVA)
Chapter 21 - King - Will God give us a miracle against Babylon?  J- NO!
God will help them to defeat you!  I am even against the House of
David.
Chapter 22 - God via J - Repent! Woe to the sons of Josiah (the Great).
You have been bad and will be punished.
Chapter 23 - God via J - I will restore you after the Exile - David’s line will
rule again. God condemns the prophets as false. I will bring you
disgrace.
Chapter 24 - God & J - two baskets of figs - good and bad. I will restore
the good in exile. God will judge the other leaders badly.
Chapter 25 - God via J - You will be sent into Exile in Babylon! They will
drink of a cup of wrath - the Lord will roar from on high! Wail...
Chapter 26 - God via J - You priests and prophets will die! J- amend your
ways and have faith in God.
Chapter 27 - God via J - Make a yoke and show it to everyone - I have
given you to Babylon. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you different.
A prophet broke the yoke - you will die. He did.
Chapter 28 - God via J - J writes the Exiles - Build houses and live life in Babylon after 70 years I will bring you back. I will restore you. Shemaiah
is a liar and I will punish even his descendants.
Chapter 29 - God via J - I have heard the cries of the people and I will
restore them in due time. I will break the yoke of oppression.

A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
