Today’s Reading
9/18/2019 Day 261 Mark 6:1 – 56
Reflection |
Today -
Jesus, in these chapters, returns home with mixed reviews;
The disciples are instructed by Jesus to go and extend the
Mission; How did John the Baptist die? Beheaded through
the wishes of a distraught mother and daughter.

Jesus debriefs with his disciples as they return on their mission -
They went to a quiet place; they were followed by the crowd;
Jesus and his disciples dealing with feeding the large crowd;
The disciples go ahead of Jesus and he walks on water to catch up.
When they landed, the sick were brought to Jesus for healing.

Again, our ministry is to learn from Jesus (the Church), hear the
Call of God, go and heal and proclaim Good News, and come
to God and reflect on what was done (prayer).

Collect for Proper 19 / Pentecost 14
O God, because without you we are not able to please you,
mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct
and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
now and forever. Amen

Wonders that God give us continuously.
