Today’s Reading -

10/1/2019       Day 274 Luke 8:40 – 9:62

Reflection |
Today -
Check out yesterday’s blog post for the last part of Chapter 8.
Chapter 9 - Jesus commissions the disciples to go out and do what
He has been doing - teaching, healing, forgiving, and reliance on faith;
And they go; King Herod is curious (not John the Baptist); the disciples
return and go out on retreat to discuss their experiences. Feeding of
5,000 is a lesson for the disciples as much as a miracle. Prayer and faith
can and will do anything.
Next section deals with Christ as Messiah and taking up the cross. This
then leads to Transfiguration with Moe and Elijah showing up and God
shows up.  When God shows up things happen. Disciples are stunned
and don’t know what to say. Second prediction of Jesus’ death. Will you
follow Jesus no matter where it takes you? Reminds me of this song.

the way.

Prayer today ->

Collect of the Day: Pentecost, proper 21
O God, you declare your
almighty power chiefly in
showing mercy and pity: Grant
us the fullness of your grace,
that we, running to obtain your
promises, may become
partakers of your heavenly
treasure; through Jesus Christ
our Lord, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
(Book of Common Prayer via Mission St Clare

Pray for those seeking God’s calling for their next
venture in life. May we give thanks for all God’s gifts and
Wonders that God gives us continuously.
Amen.
