Today’s Reading -

10/7/2019       Day 280 Luke 19:1 – 47
10/8/2019       Day 281 Luke 20:1 – 21:37

Reflection |
Today -
Chapter 19 - Zacchaeus encounters Jesus and his total life is
changed; the story of accounting of what we have done - are you
fruitful; entry into Jerusalem on a donkey; Jesus weeps over Jerusalem;
He went to the Temple and cleared the money changers - House of Prayer.
Chapter 20 - Authority to teach? What about John the Baptist?  We
don’t know - then why should I tell you? Parable of the bad tenants and
the vineyard. Sadducees - what about the resurrection? Yes it will
happen. Will the messiah be a ruler like King David - no. Jesus gives
Warnings about religious leaders.
Chapter 21 - Widow’s offering giving all that she has; prediction of
the destruction of the Temple; foretelling of persecutions and desolation of Jerusalem; Signs of the Second Coming; Jesus was
always teaching in the Temple that week.

the way.

Prayer today ->

Collect of the Day: Pentecost, proper 21
O God, you declare your
almighty power chiefly in
showing mercy and pity: Grant
us the fullness of your grace,
that we, running to obtain your
promises, may become
partakers of your heavenly
treasure; through Jesus Christ
our Lord, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
(Book of Common Prayer via Mission St Clare

Pray for those seeking God’s calling for their next
venture in life. May we give thanks for all God’s gifts and
Wonders that God gives us continuously.
Amen.
