The Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
full of grace and truth. John 1:14
(Enriching Worship 1)

Editor’s Note:
The Revelation of John is a controversial book of the Bible.
Some feel that it an old revelation fulfilled by the fall of the
Roman Empire. Others feel that it is a prophecy for today.
Others feel it is the primary book of the Bible. Others
wonder even if it should have been placed in the Bible. It
has vivid images of the heavenly Kingdom and some of the
most cherished liturgical verses. It also shows a violent war
between heaven and earth and the last days. Some feel that
it does not depict a God of mercy or forgiveness. Some can’t
wait for this to happen. I believe that God/Jesus will come
again to judge the living and the dead.

With that, I will point you to resources of what others think.
I will not even attempt to interpret this and leave it to you
for your own insights and conclusions.

General Thanksgiving

Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy
servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness
and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made.

We bless you for our creation, preservation, and
all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable
love inthe redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace,
and for the hope of glory.

And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with
truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our
lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service, and by
walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
