Dear Friends in Christ,

Edwards Key points -

  • Year 37 CE is covered in Acts 6 - 9

  • Caligula declares himself to be son of Zeus. This makes him a god.

  • Stephen is martyred for the faith and is s toned to dead.

My Thoughts-

  • In Stephen’s testimony to the High Priest’s council, he uses the salvation history of Israel and ties it to Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promises.

    • Abraham (7:2-8)

    • Joseph in Egypt (7:9-18)

    • Moses (7:20-45)

    • David the King (7:45b-53)

  • Council became enraged at what Stephen was saying, stoned him, and Stephen asked for forgiveness for the crowd, and died.

Where are people being persecuted for the faith today?

In Christ,
