Day 21 - First Missionary Journey
Prayer Suggestion |
O God, the creator and preserver of all, we humbly beseech you for all sorts and conditions of people; that you would be pleased to make your ways known unto them, your saving health unto all nations. More especially we pray for your holy Church universal; that it may be so guided and governed by your good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in the righteousness of life. Finally, we commend to your fatherly goodness all those who are in any ways afflicted or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; that it may please you to comfort and relieve them according to their several necessities, giving them patience under their s ufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

Bible in Time | New Testament Study, Day 21
It’s 47 - 48 CE/a.d.
Today: Acts 13:14 - 50 | Revo. p. 105
Tomorrow: Acts 14 | Paul and Church Planting
We begin the time of the Church of missionary journeys and the going of the Church based on forgiveness and the salvation of Christ.
Edwards Book Key points -
Paul and Barnabas forms 1st Gentile/Non-Jewish faith-based Church
Raise up a Church then leave -
No building, no New Testament, No Christian presence nearby, no Bible teaching - just God’s people, the church and the indwelling of God
My Thoughts-
It seems to me that the post-COVID Church in America will be different than the pre-COVID Church that was suffering a slow slide of reduced attendance, budget focus on preserving inherited buildings, and gathering to a place.
America will be hungering for places to gather together after the pandemic. Will the Church be open enough to have radical hospitality to all comers and create a discipleship gathering place to train people to worship, pray, study, hear the call of God, and serve the world? The focus we need to be worship, gathering, training individual disciples in the tools they need to do their ministries, and send them out.
What is God calling you to do today?
What is your missionary journey like today?
In Christ,
Dave Eitland
