Dear Friends in Christ,
So onto our study of Acts using Revolutionary Bible Study.
Edwards Key points -
Year 30 CE/a.d
March 30 - April 4 - Passion of the Christ
April 7 - Resurrection
May 29 - Coming of Holy Spirit and the founding of Church
May 30 - Crowd hears of Jesus and stays in Jerusalem
“Church life was spontaneous, part of divine nature of God express by” people. p. 34
My Thoughts on the Bible-
The telling of the formation of the Church is hyperactive and always in motion.
Jesus’ resurrection and teaching for 40 days about the Kingdom of God.
Jesus’ ascension with angels - message the Holy Spirit will come.
Believers spend time together in prayer waiting and watching
Peter speaks and ties Jesus to the history of God with Israel.
Appoint Matthias as a replacement for Judas - 12 disciples/12 tribes of Israel
Holy Spirit comes as a mighty wind. Spirit gives the ability to speak in unlearned languages
Peter speaks using Joel 2:28-32. Jesus is the fulfillment of Scripture.
Ties Jesus into the salvation history of Israel
What can we do? Repent and be baptized in name of Jesus for forgiveness and receiving of the Holy Spirit.
Gathered together day by day praising God and sharing possessions.
And their numbers increased.
God blesses people and ministry.
In Christ,
Dave Eitland
