Day 26 - Decisions Made and New Tour
Silas |
Prayer Suggestion |
Set us free, O God, from the bondage of sin, and give us the liberty of the abundant life which you have made known to us in our Savior, Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

Coming to one of the great debates in the new Christian Church.
Edwards’ Book Key points -
Galatians was written by Paul in Spring, 50 CE/ad.
Peter sides with Gentiles as long as the Pharisees are NOT around. Paul calls him out on his hypocrisy.
Pharisees come to Antioch Christians, try to discredit Paul, and “convert” these folks to follow the Mosaic traditions (or what the Pharisees believe).
Council of Jerusalem where James the brother of Jesus is de facto chairman of the group, have to make a decision on what to require the Gentile Christians. Do they have to follow the old traditions?
James rules the Gentiles do NOT have to follow the traditions. These are not required for salvation. Writes a letter to the Galatian churches with his ruling. Paul and Barnabas delivers the letter.

My Thoughts-
Paul and Barnabas separate in their missionary work.
Paul and Silas do the 2nd missionary tour.
Note they are doing this ministry as two people not just one.
Background on Silas.
Invite your friends to our journey.
