St. Paul the Apostle in the final section of
the letter of 1 Thessalonians, he is giving “one-liner” advice for the living in the community.

  • The Day of the Lord will come as a

thief in the night … don’t worry about it.

  • You are children of light … act that way.

  • Be sober.

  • Put on the breastplate of faith and love.

  • Put on the helmet of hope and salvation.

  • God intends us for salvation.

  • Build each other up. (You’re doing this.)

  • Respect your church leaders.
    Value their work in Christ.

  • Correct idlers.

  • Encourage the faint-hearted.

  • Help the weak.

  • Be patient with all.

  • Take no revenge.

  • Seek always to do good for everyone.

  • Pray without ceasing.

  • Give thanks in all circumstances.

  • Do God’s will for you.

  • Do not quench the Holy Spirit.

  • Honor the words of prophets.

  • Test everything.

  • Hold fast to what is good.

  • Abstain from every form of evil.

  • Be blameless.

  • Pray for everyone before God.

  • Live God’s grace.

(1 Thessalonians 5:12 - 26)

Keep the faith, smile to all, forgive all.
