Day 67 - Of Hats and Worship
Prayer Suggestion |
Prayer for All Saints Day |
Dear God, thank you for the example
of the Saints. I desire to join in their
company, worshiping you forever in Heaven.
Please help me follow in their footsteps,
and yours, Jesus Christ. Please help me
to conform myself to Your image, seeking
Your will in all things, as the Saints did.
Please help me to devote myself, and
all that I do, to Your glory, and to the
service of my neighbors. Amen.

Reflection Today’s Reading -
Dear Friends in Christ,
In today’s reading, Paul the Apostle is focusing on behavior in worship and the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
What can I say… Paul seems to have a bugaboo about women wearing hats or head coverings in worship. I am deeply appreciative of just having women and men in worship regardless of what they wear or how they get to worship including e-church. Regardless, The point is worshipping is with awe and adoration to enliven the soul and delight in life.
Paul gives of the Words of Institution for the Lord’s Supper. Simple, unique, mind-bending words that take us into the unity of Christ - born, died, risen, and coming again with the whole Church in this shared act of feeding and love.
Paul warns us to watch our attitude of how we partake. Be respectful of all that this sacrament means.
Bless us all for those who work to advance God in the desperate world.
Blessings,
Dave Eitland
